So there I was, just reading my automobile magazine like any normal jalop. I opened up to the c63 amg vs m3 comparison test, and then I almost threw up. Because the amg badge was on the wrong side.
They first messed with the badge on the s63 amg coupe, and I’m scared they will do it again soon. Help me
Fyi: this is how it should look

Next thing you know it, there will be a giant AMG logo across the rear, 944 style.

At least it's on the right side.

It’s because they changed names of AMG cars a little bit. It’s not called the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG anymore. Now it’s Mercedes-AMG C63.

I agree, most languages read left to right, so it makes sense for the AMG badging to be on the right side of the car...it’s a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, not a Mercedes-Benz AMG C63.

I hate that they did that. So much.

The Mercedes-amg thing should be reserved for bespoke amg cars like the GT imo

It's weird that they did that. The old name was quite the mouthful to say though.

It's possible they did it because of BMW and Audi since they put their performance designation first (M3/RS4).

I had to make the joke

No, the AMG cars are now called “Mercedes AMG + (Model Name Here)“. I don’t know what was wrong with the old way, but they changed it.
Just like the people who created Kinja. “If nothing’s wrong, CHANGE IT.”

At least they didn't just say fuck it lets change our entire alphanumeric naming scheme around and make it make less sense like every other brand.

Correct. The thinking is that AMG cars are now so different underneath from normal ones that AMG is considered a manufacturer instead of a tuner.
Admittedly, I don’t like the location change.

I think the name change isnt necessary either. AMG is still a tuning company whether they like it or not.

I agree about the name change. But they are considered a manufacturer since the SLS, GT, and m156 were all in house without Mercedes help from the ground up.

Come to think of it, AMG builds and ships engines for companies like Pagani so you’re correct they are actually a manufacturer rather than tuning company.

What is the explanation for being on 2 different sides in the same model year?
